About The Dhaka Project
The Dhaka Project is the vision of Maria Conceicao, the founding member who began the project in July 2005 overwhelmed by the poor living conditions and lack of education in the slums of Bangladesh. Since this time she has been joined by a dedicated locally employed team along with volunteers from Bangladesh and the world over, who share her passion and belief for this cause. They have received invaluable, consistent support from the Emirates Airlines Foundation, without whom, the charity would not be where it is now. What began with 20 children attending school has now flourished into a day care centre, a nursery, a primary school and a secondary school.
This year the project will aim at focusing on:
Provide training to the adult members of families, to overcome poverty and become self-sufficient and educate the children to give them opportunities in the future.
Provide Jobs for recently educated parents in white collar positions that will uplift their lifestyle for generations to come.
